The department also takes lead in arranging Faculty Development Programmes to ensure their overall development and enrichment of skills to match the changing needs of the industry. Sessions by eminent academicians and trainers such as Dr. Gururaj Karajagi and Aarthi V. B. are also arranged regularly.
The department has been magnanimous in extending counselling to students, teachers and parents. The counselling facility plays a vital role in the overall development of the adolescent students to overcome their challenges and emerge as well-rounded personalities.

DBIT proudly hosts a State-of-the-Art Data Centre for skilling circuit branch students in Enterprise Technologies which is one of the emerging cutting edge technologies to store the Big Data.
The data centre offers vast and real-time opportunities in the areas of Internships and Projects to provide exposure to the Architecture of the Data Centre along with Data Processing for Research and Analysis, and so on.

Sri. B. Bylappa was born in a village near Shivagange, where he had his primary education, and then shifted to Bengaluru to pursue secondary and higher education. With a strong desire for technical knowhow, he completed his Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and joined Kirloskar to begin his career as a young engineer. He excelled in his career with Kirloskar and was recognized as a distinguished troubleshooter.
After having good years of experience, with his pursuit of excellence, he started consultancy services in the area of engineering and technology. A burning desire towards innovation brought out the entrepreneur in him to start Prashanth Cylinders Pvt Ltd., Prime Granites Pvt Ltd., Prashanth Hiram Engineering, Prashanth Automobiles, and PRAW WELD. Despite being an industrialist, his social quotient remained in the area of education which inspired him to establish Wayanamac Education Trust in the year 1999 – with a focus to transform youth into responsible leaders and entrepreneurs of the new age, by providing quality and value-based education.
Sri. B. Bylappa has had a wide philanthropic and charitable outlook right from his initial stages of entrepreneurship which remains even today by way of providing basic school education facilities to the needy, imparting quality education, scholarship to needy students and assistance to orphanages/old-age homes, assistance to people in need, places of worship and community halls, etc.
