The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Don Bosco Institute of Technology (DBIT) successfully organized a technical talk on “Edge AI for Intelligent Real-Time Systems” on 12 March 2026 at 2:00 PM in A-001, DBIT. The event was conducted in association with AICTE IDEA Lab and the WILANIOS Tech Forum, bringing together students, faculty members, and technology enthusiasts to explore emerging advancements in artificial intelligence.

The session was delivered by Dr. Vindhya P. Malagi, Professor and Head of the Department – AI & ML at Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. With her expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning, she provided valuable insights into how Edge AI is revolutionizing intelligent real-time systems by enabling faster data processing directly at the source, reducing latency, and improving system efficiency.

During the talk, Dr. Malagi explained the growing importance of Edge AI in modern applications, including smart devices, industrial automation, healthcare technologies, and autonomous systems. She highlighted how processing data closer to where it is generated allows organizations to build smarter, faster, and more reliable systems without relying entirely on cloud infrastructure.

The session also covered practical examples and real-world use cases where Edge AI is transforming industries by enabling real-time decision-making and improving operational efficiency. Students gained a deeper understanding of the technologies behind intelligent systems and the career opportunities emerging in the fields of AI, Machine Learning, and Edge Computing.
