As part of IGNITE AI 2026, a week-long AI innovation event organized by the Department of Mathematics in association with the AICTE IDEA Lab, Don Bosco Institute of Technology conducted an insightful invited talk on the topic “Importance of Statistical Literacy in the Era of AI & ML.”
The session was delivered by Dr. Moutushi Chatterjee from the SQC & OR Unit, Indian Statistical Institute, Bengaluru Centre. During the talk, she highlighted the critical role of statistical thinking in building reliable and effective AI and Machine Learning systems. She also emphasized the growing importance of data literacy in today’s technology-driven world.
The session provided valuable insights to students and faculty members, helping them understand how statistical methods form the foundation of modern Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
