Aspiration of the Counselling Cell
The Counselling Cell is committed to working in collaboration with other faculty members, Principal and the management of the DBIT group of Institutions in the true spirits of Counseling philosophy. The Cell aspires to positively contribute to the wholesome spirit of "one large DBIT family" and provide meaningful counselling services to students, parents and faculty members in equal measure that brings transformation in the lives of students.

The Counselling Cell undertakes many activities, some of which are directly related to student counselling, whereas others are faculty support centric. All activities are important that lead to the overall improvement of student skills, attitudes and behavior. Coordinating with faculty members, providing guidance and support to them on request, following up with students on their personal development issues and ensuring proper monitoring are some well-established activities.
The Cell holds counselling meetings, both individual and group and counseling students and faculty to address their psychological and overall wellbeing needs. Management, Principal, HODs and faculty members are consulted on an on-going basis and relevant decisions are taken after discussing with them.

The Counselling Cell plays a vital role as a support provider, working collaboratively with faculty members who take the lead in guiding students. By actively facilitating discussions and interventions, the Cell ensures that the academic environment remains conducive to learning and personal growth.
This support encompasses a range of services, including workshops, individual counseling sessions, and group discussions, all designed to address the diverse needs of students. The Counselling Cell operates quietly yet effectively, maintaining a focus on its core principles of confidentiality, empathy, and respect. The Department of Physical Education and Sports of DBIT boasts of One of the Best Facilities among all engineering colleges of the state – thanks to the sprawling campus. Numerous inter-collegiate/inter-university/professional events are conducted on the campus regularly. The appreciation earned from VTU authorities/participating teams/other institutions and a large number of prizes/medals won by the students of DBIT are apt indicators of the encouragement and support given for Sports. Regular Fitness Programmes/Awareness Campaigns are a regular feature augmented by the excellent Gym Infrastructure.

The Canteen offers a wide variety of dining options. The menu includes North Indian Dishes, Punjabi Cuisine and South Indian Delicacies. It also caters to the Non-Vegetarians once in a week, on Sundays. The menus for Lunch and Dinner are different for different days of the week. The Nutrition aspect is given due importance while deciding the menu in addition to satisfying the Taste Buds.

The separate residence hostels for girls and boys at DBIT offer a comfortable and well-equipped living environment. Each room is designed with an attached bathroom and features RO-filtered water for drinking, along with solar-powered hot water facilities. Both hostels are equipped with reading rooms stocked with newspapers and magazines, ensuring students have access to current information and leisure reading. They also benefit from 24-hour water and electricity supply, supported by a standby generator to ensure continuous service. Additionally, the hostels provide other essential conveniences, such as laundry facilities and common areas for relaxation and socializing, to enhance the overall living experience for students.
Don Bosco Institute of Technology Hostels – a home away from home, offers on-campus accommodation for the bonafide students. Sufficient number of beds are available in the exclusive girls’ block and the exclusive boys’ block which are in totally different locations for the sake of privacy. The facilities provided are guided strictly by the sense of comfort and quality of living of the students. The Two Floor spacious Canteen, with an exclusive Lift to transfer Food between the floors, caters to the Mess requirements of the Hostels.
Adequate RO Water dispensing units, Hot Water facility, Reading room, Round the clock Water/Electricity with Stand-by Generator are in place.
Regular Health Checkups for resident students and hostel staff are arranged. Medical aid is made available 24×7 at the DBIT Health Centre. A Sick Room, each in the Girls Hostel and Boys Hostel, is provided for any emergency.
Security System
The campus features an elaborate security arrangement, with CCTV coverage extending to every nook and corner, ensuring comprehensive monitoring around the clock. Security personnel are stationed 24 hours a day, providing continuous oversight and maintaining stringent control over access to the campus, various departments, and hostels. Entry is highly restricted to ensure safety and security. For added reassurance, only female staff are assigned to oversee the Girls’ Hostel. Additionally, experienced on-campus wardens and department-specific coordinators are available to address any representations or concerns from hostel residents, ensuring that student needs are met promptly and effectively. This robust security infrastructure and attentive staff contribute to a secure and supportive living environment for all students.
